High idle

so I finally got my car running I noticed the idle was kinda high so I thought it would kick down once it warmed up so a minute later it still was high idle till I put it In gear . It's a 4.3 tbi is there a screw I can turn to lower it or is it a sensor In The throttle body

Engines will idle higher in park than in drive due to the reduced load. That is why you generally set idle speed in drive, at least fof carbs. I would think EFI would be similar.

I'd spray some brake /carb cleaner around the base gasket area. If it changes, there's your leak.

hopefully I don't have to mess with the idle screw and it's just cracked vacuum lines . I will try spraying brake cleaner around the base like 1rareT said .

Pinch off vacuum hoses. I lean toward a base gasket. make sure you do not have a cheap PCV valve. Buy a AC Delco
