Finally got the hood on my car tonight. Lined up well. Couldnt find the spring at first but after some searching in the attic I found it.
A question though. What kind of screw goes into the side of the hood at the rear corners ? My 81 has a rectangular piece of plastic in the hole. The wagon has a U nut. Not sure if thats what should be there. I probably have more of the plastic pieces but I have to dig for them. Still dont know what the screw looks like. Anyone know ?

It also seems like the corners are up a little. Not sure if theres an adjustment on the hinges. Lines are good otherwise. Wipers look like theyre going to clear. Close though.

On my car it is a Metric 4.2 - 1.41 X somewhere between 16 and 20mm long, 7 mm Hex head with with a loose washer that's not removeable. It screws into the plastic insert. Like the pic but i am not sure if the washer is that big.

The U nut holds better, IMO

I'll check to see if theyre the right size tomorrow. Whats the purpose of the two screws ?
Supports the rear of the hood, the corners are a long ways from the hinge attachment, and the metal is fairly weak back there.
