Got a question. Got an 85 442 that I will be swapping in a 403 using edelbrock heads. That requires using the edelbrock rpm intake that will make the carb sit higher. How much interference issue if any would there be with the hood?
You will have to use 307 motor mounts and a drop base air cleaner. You could have trouble with the intake being to high. I swapped a 400 into my 82 grand prix and used 301 mounts and stock air cleaner from a 301 and an intake and carb from a 75 trans am and was barely able to close the hood. Good luckGot a question. That's interesting. I have no idea on the mounts, but they are probably the 403 mounts. One of the tubes on my headers is about 1/4" from the front crossmember, so I'm not sure that I could lower it down. I'd looked at it before, as I think the RPM intake would help my combination.
