I’m planning on converting my SS front end to a “bottom feeder” style airbox like more modern cars have, as suggested by UNGN on a couple of threads on here in the past.

My next issue is getting air out of the engine bay, so I need vents. Question is, just hood vents, GNX style fender vents, or both? I will also be adding a small cowl induction scoop to feed the engine- that’ll have a plate that seals to the air cleaner base.

I have done all of that, I started with fender vents but mine are from a Buick Lesabre and I cut one off and then angled the ends and opened them to be functional, they are smaller than GNX vents like what I have on my Regal but still extract heat.
Later I bought a 4" Harwood cowl but couldn't get a drop base air cleaner to fit without hitting the cowl so I made an air pan and modified it to go up with the hood so you could see the engine at car shows.
Later I wanted to remove more heat so I made aluminum hood vents that bolt in. I actually think too much heat comes out of the hood vents and it ends up in the car with my windows down and sunroof open.

I saw the thread where you made your hood vents, and while I love the idea of it, I doubt I can make anything like those or even with straight angles. I’ll just have to try.

I do have the small vents from the rear of a 3rd gen Trans Am hood I could use for the fender vents, however.

When I made my hood vents I designed them to match both the hood body line and also the angle of the cowl scoop.

Do you also have the front vents from that same hood?

Not matching the body lines on the hood makes any hood vents look a bit off- which is the main hurdle I’m running into.

Do you also have the front vents from that same hood?

I do, actually. I have no idea what they’ll look like with a cowl scoop, though.

While not cheap I like this contoured style hood vent and was planning on making some out of aluminum in a slightly different design for my Monte but I am not sure if I will like them with my new Sunoco style hood.
These below are made by Trackspec obviously for a Mustang.
