I just put my 5.3 ls with the hooker turbo manifold in my 80 elco and it does fit. I had to grind the nuts on the motor mounts down and weld the motormount to frame but it all does clear.

What bushings and clamshells are you using?

Seems a little tight around that motor mount for my liking. How is the down pipe space around the firewall?

I've been eyeing these headers for a while now.

Those beg the question of why? A set of flipped truck manifolds will get r done and still be able use the factory heat shields. The truck headers have recorded 1700hp over on YB. I have about $75 in mine and they clear everything easily.

FWIW - $75 was for a set of V-bands welded on each side.

it is a little tight in that pic but after i welded the top of the motor mount to the crossmember you end up with 5/8 t0 3/4 inch clearance all around. everything else clears nicely. i should have it back in the car with transmission and all by the weekend. ill post more pics then. i used the hooker motor mounts and the stock v8 mount on frame.

Did you change the original rubber bushings in the stock clamshells? I feel like that's a bit too tight of fit for Holley to give that the green light for g bodies

Holley would not say either way they would or wouldn't work on a g body. I seen other post saying they didn't clear on a cutless. I really liked the look and wanted to try it. I like the idea of the outside being behind and under the motor. I didn't want the clutter of the outside upfront with the truck manifolds flipped up and Frwd. It clears just fine for me.

They are pretty slick. No burnt plug wires, fit accessories really well and clean looking. Shame they don't fit better. 😠

I got the manifolds wrapped and motor and trans in car. I ended up grinding the boys and nuts down on top side of clamshell mount and welding it in place. Leaves about 3/4" clearance. They clear everything else nice.
