whenever I start my car in the morning the rpm's jump to 2k and hold until I hit the gas so the idle drops, then I have to keep my foot on the gas so it doesn't stall until engine temp hits 100 then it idles fine

My car does that too its just warming the engine up. Hence why it will stall out on you if you don't keep your foot on the gas.

2000k is a little high. There is a choke idle screw you can adjust to lower the idle on a cold start. I am not talking about the idle screw that is on the drivers side up front. There is one just for the choke but I cannot recall where it is at. It should not be hard to find. If you have trouble finding it check out edelbrock's website and download the manual.

Go to youtube and do a search for adjusting Edelbrock carbs or tuning......Edelbrock and many others have videos showing how to do it.....it is where I got instructions to get my 750 cfm 1408 carb tweaked enough to run it.

Also be sure to adjust it COLD, and check it again when COLD. First thing in the morning is best unless it's really been cold out.
