i may have asked this before but i have a 442 that the rear glass was removed before i got it to install a new quarter panel. i need to know what i need to reinstall it? is it glue? i saw a rope seal at one point also online but not sure which it should be. my regal appears to have hard black glue? would like to get this in asap

They are glued in with urethane.

Dispite what some people say, butyl rope seals were never used on g-bodies from the factory.

If you want my advise, it's worth the extra few bucks to have the window professionally installed, especially if you've not only never done it before, but don't have the materials to do it...

The glue can be got at auto parts . But there is allot of wind stress if a t top want done right. Minus cost of glue I can get installed for like $35 buck . No brainer there.

X2, front and rear windows are one of those things I just soon have someone else do.

i guess i am a stubborn f*ker and want to do it myself... only one way to learn... anyone know they name of he glue i need to ask for?

its actually very easy, clean up all the edges and call a window installer shop, they may even sell you a tube of their silicone stuff for cheap or at least ask them what they use. This is how I installed my truck window, can be done easier with two people and/or one of those suction handles...be carefull! have paper towels ready
