How do I know if I flooded my engine?

*Blueprint 383. Ehhh...alrighty fellas, I have no idea why my car won't start. I drove it a week or two ago, parked it, then it wouldn't start again.

I pumped the gas so much in all of that time that I think I may have flooded it. I started googling stuff and I decided to ask you guys before I started playing internet mechanic. What exactly do I need to look for? Pictures? Diagrams?

Pull the spark plugs?

I want to get this figured out before I buy the EFI system.

as a guy who as flooded a few engines in my time ( cough , cough )...............i just let them sit for an hour or so and they start up.

before you pull plugs............. whats the oil level at ? whats the oil look like ? a 50/50 mix of gas & oil ?

Pull a couple plugs and see if wet, then it is back to basics. Fuel, fire, air and compression at the right time

Sounds like it may be time for a tune up anyway.

Lets it sit for a bit then spray some starting fluid (2 quick shots) in the carb and crank it over.


Don't touch the gas pedal until it starts

It's sat for a few days to no avail. These plugs have been in the car for approximately 3.5 years, but the car has only been 2,000 miles or so max (body shop jail).

oil level is a bit low. It definitely needs to be changed.

307? Are you talking about the ci of the engine? If so, I have a Blueprint 383 Crate Motor.
