How many quarts of ATF fluid to fill transmission

I have a rebuilt 700R4 transmission and new torque converter and a deep aluminum pan yhat holds 2 extra quarts,how many quarts of transmission fluid does it take to fill this transmission completely I will be dumping 1 quart in the torque converter before installation I'm thinking maybe 15 quarts total or more

I would start with 10 quarts, start the car and let the engine warm up then add more if needed. Just make sure your using the transmission dip stick to check the level of the fluid. When its full according to the dip stick then get in the car and put in all gears a few times, put in park check the level on the dip stick again.

Yes, Dex VI supercedes Dex III and is backwards compatible.
