how much gear oil

well i'm working on my gn rear& found out that my fill hole for the rear is messed up....so when I go to fill this rear with the posi fluid...how much gear oil do I add....I do have 2 bottles of bfl gear oil to put in ...

I justed filled ours, maybe 2.2 pints. If your wheel ends are empty, then you want to overfill it a little - some will wind up out there.

I have to ask, why not fix the fill plug? If you don't think you can, then put a fill plug in the rear cover - drill and weld one in.

I mangled my fill plug; it just was not coming out. Someone here suggested filling through the vent tube on top, so that's what I did. We don't need no stinkin' fill plug!

I would weld a bolt to the fill plug and remove it or drill it out and replace it with a plug like this

Buy a universal drain plug kit like the one B&M sells,install it on the rear cover around the same height as the mangled fill on the front.that way you'll still have the drain plug to use as the indicator to the correct level.
