Awesome post, i've done that countless times on GM tilt columns in the distant past. The close up pics of those springs, rods, levers, etc. is truly needed if you're attempting for the first time. I'm sure this will help a lot of folks!!

When I did my column, I didn't have the Lisle pin extractor tool, which I later saw at my local parts store. ..after the fact, of course. Instead I used a slide hammer and a bolt using the same thread. Somewhere I picked up that tip from one of the GM column overhaul threads some years back. I don't think it's on the internet any longer. It did seem to do the job at the time.
