How to tell a 700R4 Trans

I found this trans in a local ad. The guy tells me it's a 700R4 trans out of a 1994 gmc truck 2wd. What are the specific things too look for to know its a 700r4 and did the 700r4 even come in a 94 gmc truck. I have attached a couple pics, maybe someone can identify if it's a 700r4. Thanks.

yes. that is indeed a 700r4. 16 bolts and the off square shape of the pan is the identification.

and yes, gm trucks from maybe 88-95 used 700r4. and later years used the 4L60E.

might be off on the years but, 94 gm trucks did have 700r4 transmissions.

look at pan #6. that is you my friend.
