Was the gold always the same on the Hurst cars? I’ve got the gold Vision Dazzler wheels and am going to be painting part of my hood with the Hurst color. Would like it not to be a noticeable difference atleast.

No. The gold varied slightly between the years. So you couldn't use say, a 69 color on a 79 and vice versa and have it match.

Your best bet is to try and find a paint shop that could replicate the wheel color for you in a mixable formula if you want it to match your wheels.

Plan B would be the best option though if you wish it to match the best. I'm thinking Hurst just subbed out the job on their modern Hurst wheels to Vision anyway, so whatever paint they were using on the Dazzlers, that's now the Hurst gold for 2019. Although, the 79 H/O gold wheel paint is pretty close. But not sure I'd say it's exact enough.

This page has the different years and paint color names from 68 to 88

The 79 Hurst olds gold paint code isn't there. In fact it's nowhere Lauren's trim tag just reads 19 for the black and I've found nothing in the paint data in all the shops I've worked in over the years. The only place I ever seen it was in an old Dupont chip book and it was only a half chip if someone dose have the paint code I'd like to have it

I did find a Olds only gold for '79, GM 55/PPG 24430 Gold Poly (2-Tone). It's a bright small flake gold according to the chip I have in my PPG book. It even has a note of being a intramixed color so this may be the color used when Hurst had the H/O conversions done.

Worse case scenario paint the rims to match the new gold paint.

For 79 Hurst/Olds, the upper gold paint was Ditzler DDL 24430 or Dupont 45869L. WA7004. But obviously PPG 24430 should be the same. Didn't the 80 442 use the same gold? Apparently 1980 Pontiac used this color too. 79/80 Hurst/442 wheel gold is 24450.

White was the same from 73-80. Code 11. Dupont 5338L. Black was code 19, Dupont 99L

I would think that, if a shop scanned the wheel paint, the 2 would be close enough no one would notice, as long as they didn't get too close to each other. Hood stripe to wheel? You'd never see it.
