Posted the other day in the body section and haven’t had any luck with an answer..
Had a question for those of you in the know. Cleaning out my garage and I found a spoiler in the rafters.

I am lead to believe that it is a 83-84 Hurst olds spoiler. It’s of metal construction and the tips feel like a rubber/urethane maybe. The tips have a patent number of 4558898 on them.
Anyone her knowledgeable enough to confirm if this is an original H/O spoiler? Any idea as to value?

I’ve been googling all day and can’t find a single original oem spoiler available anywhere to even compare it to.

Thanks!

It's not from an 83/84 H/O. It's fiberglass and has 4 mounting studs. Looks similar, but not even close if you matched them up side to side.

Edit: Ok, technically it's more of a plastic. I was thinking of the 69 H/O wing. But it isn't metal.

Looks like a aftermarket universal spoiler from the 80s and 90s if it is that groove across the bottom is to make the pedestals adjustable. There was a lot of that stuff back then

Ok, thanks guys! The only reason I had thought so is the numbers from the tips matched an eBay auction for oem hurst tips.
It was originally destined for a GTO project I had at one point, so I wanted to defer to the G body experts.

I think that was made by a company named Venture. My brother had one on a Cutlass.

Even under the venture name, haven’t found anything. I’m guessing as an earlier commenter said that it may just be a universal spoiler. Probably going to just shove it back in the garage.
Appreciate all the help tho guys!

Actually, researching it again after you listed the name, you might be spot on. The patent number on the tip is registered to a Dann Deaver of the Ventre corporation in 83/84.
I’d say you know your stuff! Can’t find anything else about the spoiler itself, but I think that solves it.
Thanks again!

We put a few of them on back in the day. I thought they were one of the best fitting aftermarket options available back then.
Did it say where they were located? I’m thinking ours came from Michigan, but that may have been the vendor.
