Is there something specific I should use between the plate and the firewall to seal it?
I might have some seam sealer laying around or can I just use some RTV ? I don't think it's necessary to buy the original gasket. ???
Thanks

I've used foam tape (sticky on one side). It allows the panel to be removed easily.

We use hot air for defrosting, the only issue is the hyperventilating that ensues after the windshield is cleared ;)

Tony, there is actually a foam gasket available from Mike's Montes that goes behind the delete plate. I actually have two delete plates, because ya know, redundancy lol! I have an inner plate that is welded on, then has RTV along the seams. All of my electronics are mounted to it. Then I have the gasket with a small amount of RTV with the outer delete plate screwed to the firewall.

those gaskets are money well spent.a little strip chalk under the head of the bolts and/or on the threads is cheap insurance.
