Just got back from a week in California ( West Hollywood to be exact ) where my girlfriend lives. My God, how do you guys live there?! Seriously?

Parking is atrocious. Traffic is a joke. Prices are ridiculous. Trying to do anything is a major chore. I'm SOOO glad to be back home in rural Ohio!

Yeah the weather's great there and I personally hate the snow but this winter I'll be happily outside making snow angels naked knowing I don't live in or anywhere near LA!

BTW, number of classic cars I've seen during my week there; zero. Yep ZERO! But hey why have a classic car in LA anyway considering you can't drive it more than 30mph due to traffic and you have to keep it parked on the street all the time. For almost $5 for 'premium' gas, I suppose it's for the best.....

When I was stationed at Camp Pendlleton while in the Marine Corps. It snowed in Los Angeles .It was like they never seen snow before. It was interesting to watch them struggle Being from the Seattle /Western Washington area. Where snow is a normal thing.

Guy I work with just came back from California last weekend, had a bunch of pictures of cool old stuff.

Catch is, it was NorCal. He was there for his sister's wedding, and said around there (Geyserville) there was still a lot of stuff around....relatively speaking.

Yep........in that state, big brother plays too big of a role in the citizen's lives.....I'll bite my tongue on the rest of what I have to say ......to keep the discussion from getting too political.

I was in southern California earlier this year.......absolutely love the weather......hate the traffic, crowds, and govt oversight. I'll gladly deal with the South Dakota winters in exchange for no state income tax, $2/gal race fuel(e85), rural living with no stop lights, fast food restaurants....etc.

Hey now, let's give LA some credit here! They have some fast food joints...if by fast food you mean slow food with prices comparable to actual real restaurants in other states.

Yeah, FU 'Fatburger' and your pu$$y a$$ wimpy double burger for $11 and $4 dinky a$$ side of fries that you also charged me tax on even though it was to go. Maybe I was just extra hungry since I had to wait 15 minutes for it even though NO other customers were there ( it was at night when I went ).

Better deal than my $17 plate of spaghetti from another restaurant and the $25 for 2 dinky a$$ sandwiches from another pretentious, 'soy boys r us' place.
