Aight bros I have to replace my old and dry rotted center console and I am looking for a replacement.
I was looking at a 2000 camaro console but I changed my mind about that one, then I saw one of the
wise men of this great forum install a 2007 impala console and that looks pretty damn nice to me but
before I get dead set on going with that impala console, I wanted to know if it's any other center console
that any of you guys have went with? I was thinking about trying to do something with either the 2004 or
A 2012 Cadillac CTS center console but I'm not sure if it could be done.

I've used a couple of different ones. Blazer consoles from the late 90's work, as do Grand Prix consoles early 2000( mine is a 2004).

Hey Darby,
What was involved in making the later model shifter compatible? BTW, That console looks beautiful in your car.

Not too bad to install. Shifter mounts to a flat piece of SM, which then bolts to the stock console mounts. Console mounts to shifter in front, and a piece of 1" bar bent unto a U at the rear. Used a B&M shifter cable

If you decide on a stock 78-88 cutlass console, I've got a couple.

Looks nice. By the time I get around to restoring my junk you guys will have everything covered. I have a mid 80's Camaro console that I know works good for a non-factory console but a factory style console and Hurst Lighting Rods is hard to beat. Keep up the good work.
