ID a transmission

hey guys. Sorry if this is a stupid question but how can i ID what kind of transmision is in my car

I have an 84 regal im reatoring bit the engine was swapped for a olds 307 (stamp 3161)

I am assuming the trans matches but based on the “engineering” the last guy did on this car i have no idea

Is it stamped on the transmission?

Shape of the oil pan gets you most of the way there. If it is square with a corner cut off, it's a TH200 or TH350. If it has two distinct pan segments, it's a 200-4R overdrive, shown below.
