I have a 87 cutlass with a gn 8.5 rear if that matters imma run a 15x8 rimin the back with either a 255/60 or 275/60 tire what would be my ideal back spacing without rolling the fender lip or rubbing and imma run a 15x7 possibly 8 in the front with a 235/60 what would be a good back spacing for the front or what are some good wheel and tire combos? Thanks for the help

With a 0 offset rim you'll have no trouble with the rim sizes yous talkin about the maximum backspace is between 4.5 to 5 inches with no frame notching

Your tire sizes break down like this 235/60/15 = 26x9.5r15, 255/60/15 = 27x10r15 , 275/60/15= 28x11r15

Just went thru this last summer on my 85 Cutlass. I had 15 X7 with 3.5" backspacing all the way around. The fronts would hit the inner fender on some bumps. I now have 15X8 with 4.5" backspacing in the rear, and 15X7 with 4.5" backspacing on the front. I had to use 1/4" spacers in the front to keep the rims from hitting the calipers. I have Blazer front brakes.

Hope this helps.

The first set of rims I bought for my Monte were ARE 15" x 8" with 4" of backspace on all of them, I ran 245/60R15 in the front and 275/60R15 in the rear.
My car sat higher than it does now but I had no rubbing issues on bumps or turns.
Typically close to a 4" backspace on a 8" rim works best and a 3.5" backspace on a 7" rim.
I had to notch my frame to fit my Convo Pro's 8.5" rears with 5" of backspace but I also like my wheels and tires so they don't stick out of the wheelwell at all.
