If going the heat gun route, be sure to use a good anti-fume mask as some of the adhesives the factory used can be brutal on the sinuses and lungs due to the fumes they create.

Goo Gone is good stuff but would not mix it with heat gun, jic.

Why do you need to remove it? Mine had a bunch of the stuff glued to the original carpets, I removed as much as I could manually then reinstalled on top of the new matting.
