Ok guys here is what I have found. when I shut car off sometime key comes right out. When it doesn't I shift thru gears from Park to drive back to Park and key comes right out. So what are your thoughts. I just wd the linkage on the transmission. Car sat for 7 years before I got it....Have to love Projects cars, as Drive shaft U-joint fell out of it lastnight taking it a for a rip...hahah

These 2 things should have absolutely nothing to do with each other.as Drive shaft U-joint fell out of it lastnight taking it a for a rip...hahah
Clutch and I found that out the hard way on his Square Body. It's even more fun when the parts stores have non-tilt- switches in tilt boxes!!!!found out last night as i farted with the ign switch on my 1980 for two weeks the ign switch for the tilt wheel is different than the ign switch for the nontilt, now i get the put the ignition rack back together. it was worn out and dirty anyway.

Red circle is where to make your adjustment on the linkage.

Also check at the top of the linkage rod. There should be a nylon bushing inside the rubber grommet, If that was ever apart there is a chance its missing.
