Hey guys and gals. I just bought a very special 79 el camino. This thing is really nice, but was used mostly for show use and was trailered around. Now that I own it and I don't like the idea of a trailer queen, I'm having to deal with a bunch of issues that were let go thru the years because it wasn't used on the road anyway. turn signal issues, vapor lock issues, gauges not working issues, hot floorboard issues, no working horn, non working radio, non working wipers. stuff like that. I will post in the appropriate areas about each problem as I get time and if I need help...... But for now, it cranks and runs and drives GREAT, and even the AC works COLD. I drove it on a 7 hour round trip last week. I'm very glad I bought it and I have enjoyed it so far, but I want to further improve it...... Even my daughter has to admit, this car is the bomb. Look forward to talking to you guys about getting my car back up to 100% and enjoying it. -Kevin from SC

Welcome aboard Kevin from SC,
That is a sweet looking El Camino. I'm sure in time you'll work out all the bugs and minor annoyances.
Hope you weren't affected by the recent hurricane and flooding.

thanks fellas, this car has a 350/350. the previous owner added billet and chrome to the engine. the engine compartment is very clean, car has low miles and it shows under the hood. The previous owner at some point had the body kit added with the choo choo nose and the side skirts and corvette taillights style bumper. It has the pipes coming out at the side before the rear wheels. It had some chrome sawblade mags that looked straight outta 1992 and I upgraded to the 18" iroc wheels, huge huge improvement.
