Chevrolet Vega , Chevrolet S10.

Hop on rockato.com and search for them. Both are in tank and returnless. I ran a Vega pump on a 300+hp 327 in a Pontiac Astre without issue.
Brings back memories...V8 Monzas had them, too. '75 Monza with a L79 327, 4 speed saginaw and 3.73 posi. It was over geared as the 13" rims were wrapped with 205/60/13 tires.

no carburetor heat insulator/shield,
Years ago I had issues with my BBC in my Monte when I started street driving it more and tried every heat shield from plastic to stacked aluminum plates, wood etc. the one that worked the best which I use on every engine now is a phenolic laminate spacer made by Jomar and I have the 4 hole 1/2" version on my Regal with a 355 SBC running a mechanical fuel pump and regulator and I also have AC on that car and never an issue.

You can also use a fuel filter with a vapor line out.

They can be had with hose barb, O-ring and compression fitting connections.

Some numbers to look into.

Hose barb:
MF282 is the old Mopar one.
Napa 3041
WIX 33041
Fram G3587

O-Ring:
Gm 25993215
Hastings 364

Flare Fitting:
AC GF432

Vent needs to be mounted upward facing on most applications.

The mopar was backwards.

stew86MCSS396... brings back memories for sure, back in the early 80s, my father had a 1975 monza, 265cid V8 it had.

565BBChevy... I recenlty bought one just like it, but from Canton Racing Products, i bought the 1/4" height one due to possible stock flat hood clearence issue, i use a drop down 14" air cleaner with a 3" filter element, but i havent put it on yet.

ELCAM... i've known about those filters for awhile, do you know if i could use a deadhead(non fuel return) style fuel pressure regulator with that setup?

I'd like to know more abbout that buick regal tank, if its properly baffled for in tank fuel pump, looks to be the same 17gal and dimmensions of 78-88 malibu cars.

I think putting the regulator before the filter would give the best results.

Filter before the regulator is prefered.... to keep contaminants from screwing with the PSI setting.

I would encourage the use of a heat insulator gasket and or shield before you redesign your tank, pump, and plumbing. Edelbrock offers some that about 3/8" thick and includes studs. Now, everyone has a setup, so, yours will require fasteners to match your setup.

The fuel percolation "vapor lock" I have experienced were with AFB style carbs, that is why GM only used them in 65/66.... it's worth doing some research about GM and Pontiac engineers and a new GTO and ice cream flavors (it is an interesting story). That said, there is a reason Quadra-jet carbs all come with 3/8" thick insulation gaskets. The Thermo-quad even evolved to have a plastic body to combat the problem. I will say, most Holley style carbs don't usually suffer that fate, but will respond positively to heat insulation gaskets or shields or both.

Does your car suffer a hard restart or difficult hot start?

This one has a combo of the Edelbrock divided insulator gasket and a Holley aluminum heat shield. I did this for a stock look, not combating heat soak issues. It gets plenty hot and humid here in Oklahoma in the summer. It's on pump gas.
