Is it a waste? It will only be rigged up for testing purposes, it won't be a permanent install. It burns maybe a quart every 3000 miles. Plugs aren't fouled at all, if anything they're a tad lean. Any input is appreciated, never messed with an afr gauge. AEM brand.

I welded bungs on each side for my Monte and install an AFR gauge only for testing and then remove it because I run race fuel and long term it will hurt the sensor the same situation would work for your oil burner.

1 quart of oil every 3,000 miles should not ruin the O2. If you have a Honda and it burns a quart every 3,000 miles complain to the dealer and all they will do is monito the car. They won't do anything unless it startts to burns more oil. Your could be leacking a bit of oil too so it may not be burning oil as bad as you think.

There is a recent intake leak, but I don't think that's contributed much.

afr gauge is never a bad thing IMO esp with a carb'd vehicle. It makes it so much easier when tuning esp anything part throttle to WOT

Yeah, Dodge said 1 liter(quart) every 5000 km(3100 miles) was acceptable on our 2010 Dodge Challenger. The 3.5's were sludgers and mine had the dreaded tick. The 3.6 Pentastar is a much better motor. The O2 in my Daughter's Tercel leaks and burns quite a bit of oil at nearly 400,000 km. I would think a liter every 1000 km for sure. Changed the O2 due to a code, still looked really good. It was changed at some point but still no obvious build up.
