I have the mondello Windage tray in my SBO and felpro metal intake gaskets sealed with a good amount of RTV on my Edelbrock 7111 intake. The intake runners and coolant seem to seal awesome getting the front and rear to seal and not leak oil different story entirely.

Previously had the windage tray with fel pro fiber gaskets had vacuum leaks I could never find oil leaks and seeping coolant

First set up I had was a factory turkey tray and I believe I was able to seal that one I think

As a disclaimer though I am terrible at dealing gaskets it’s sad to say but I’m not sure I’ve ever had a dry gasket on the first shot one day though maybe

Tell me a little more about your 7111 intake and air cleaner. Drop base air cleaner, I assume? Pics of it? Thanks!

It basically kisses the hood so be careful with the stud I actually bent my hood with mine at one point.
It’s really tight which is why I am trying to figure something out.

Thanks for that. I was under the impression it would not work, but you obviously have it working. The condition of the motor mounts, and the deck height all come into play here. It looks as though you could trim the stud about 1/2" and use a low profile nut, OR maybe use a nice button head bolt to attach the air cleaner, as it would not stick up past the highest point of the lid. It's an option... although it may be a little tricky to get the bolt started.

Remove the stud and use a regular 4 or 5 inch long bolt

Well now I don’t worry about it. It fits now.
