Went to Bryson City to watch the total eclipse and learned an interesting fact on the steam train ride to Dillard. Back in the day the used old cars to stop erosion caught a quick pic and found some others on line. By the way the total eclipse was assume.

If that '57 Chevy was a Mopar, GYC's would attempt it. It will buff out.

For as long as those cars have been there, one would think they would be rustier. Go to any northern city and there are much rustier cars still driving around

There must be no salt in that water.

Awesome and sad all at the same time. I guess the reality is that they would have been crushed, anyway....

Had they been in a dry junkyard all these years, perhaps there might have been some usable parts . It's possible that some of the trim parts, bumpers and such would still be salvageable.

They should use new cars, plastic don't rust

Looks like an environmental nightmare.
Wonder if they removed all the fluids n grease first,or if the water downstream is just a cancer soup?
