So I just installed some new speakers in the dash of my 86' Regal and the piece that covers it was dull and faded and once I cleaned it it looked even more faded in a few spots so I decided I did not want to paint it with non matching paint and figured I would try a few coats of SEM low luster clear and it actually brought it back to the original color.
Sorry I didn't even think about before pictures since it was a last minute decision to try this.

Even after a color coat, I use the low luster clear.

I do the same thing, to me it looks more factory with the low luster clear and gives it the added protection.
I actually decided to try this after reading a review on Recolor and the guy mentioned it's easier than painting it with a clear coat.

Agreed, I do the same. Never tried just clear coating factory plastic to bring back the color though. Good tip!
