i just recently bought my 83 cutlass with a chevy 350 in it, and im very happy with it, except for the interior. the seats really suck, the dash is cracked, and gauges are shot. im thinking of gutting the entire interior and redoing it all. but i just dont know about gbody interiors. are there after market or replacement panels/seats? id like to do a black interior. what have you guys done with your interiors? pictures?
heres mine now, any ideas would help.

I have several sets of plastics in my car's original dark blue color. I also have a good dash I got from the junkyard, and new carpet from ACC. The seats are mint condition originals, with the fronts pulled from a 35k mile car from Pennsylvania. As for black, I have found some before, but they were first gen cars so the quarter window panels would be different. The rest is interchangeable. My car has had all the options added that it did not come with, and is getting a big stereo, etc too. My advice is to just look around at the U pull it yards for a few months. Eventually, you should be able to find what you want.

Here's my interior today, awaiting paint so that I can put it together:

i was thinking just to start, that i could do all new gauges and a new gauge set-up. i know theres so many auto meter styles. does anyone have any pictures of their gauge set-up? and how would i go about putting in all auto meter gauges? a lot of modifications?

That's a bit pricey. Your door panels are easy to reupholster yourself. The chrome pieces come off the back with a pair of pliers, then you can take off the fabric and replace it with black fabric. It could be done as cheap as $20 with fabric and some 3M general purpose upholstery glue to hold it together. You can even re use the staples for the fuzzies if you are very careful when removing them. If I could find the correct original fabric for my doors, I would do this on my car. I have already swapped the trim piece from a donor panel to mine as mine had scratched wood grain. It took some time, but details make the car.

here's the custom gauge cluster i made with my gf's dad sinse hes a machinest. just baught a peice of sheet aluminum, cant remember thickness haha..made a template and so on and it turned out awesome! gauges were the autometer ultra lites, fits it for a almost factory look behind that clear plastic cover thing. i stoped with the project and sold the gauges but still have the custom piece , maybe sell it for a decent pirce =P
