I’m about to change my turn signal switch and patch the hole where the column shifter use to live. Got the old steering wheel off ok but then the steering lock has me puzzled. My Haynes manual shows about the only type of puller I don’t have. Any chance of getting it off without locating one of those tools? Pictured

Get the tool. You can get it off but you won't put it on.

yes you can but i only recommend it if you don't plan on using again. i have done it, but you will ruin the lock ring. and putting it back together is another matter. save yourself the time and frustration and buy the tool.

It's an essential tool as many of us found out. It saves your fingers and keeps the strong language at bay... :giggle:
