3.8 V6, did the gask tank ever have a heat shield from the muffler? Any pics of the stock exhaust setup would be much appreciated. Happy Thursday!

My formerly 3.8 V6 Regal never had a gas tank heat shield. However, I do know V8 Monte Carlos have head shields for the fuel line near the gas tank because of the split exhaust, 3.8 V6 cars lack it.

Turbo'd v6 efi engines also had a heat shield due to the duel style exhaust. Not sure about the turbo carb bbc cars or the cutlass

Probably any G body that had split dual exhaust from the factory came with the fuel line heat shield.

When I put the new factory duals on my Regal from a single exhaust I made a heat shield for the fuel line since the new tail pipe was under it.

Of all the g-bodies I’ve owned I never bothered nor worried on having heat shielding other than the catalytic converters if they lasted past the motor swap. 🤣

I got an NOS one of those fuel line shields around here somewhere. I'll have to check the number on it.

Found it. It's Group 3.602, GM p/n 25501213.

Cool. Forgot I had this. 25512619 is the Cat Shield. At least for Cutlass and Monte SS. I figure any G-body dual bed converter would have that.
