I looking for 1979 Hurst Olds Dual Gate shifter top plates any condition, will take the shifters if available also
Good luck with that. They're out there, but not on trees. They're under rocks, next to the hen's teeth.
Unfortunately I do need more then 1 for this project(s). I have been lucky so far have found 4 single top plates, need 1 more to complete the two 79 HO Dual gate 3 speed shifters that I did not need to convert to 4 speed units so I can sell them to recoup some of the costs of this project(s) . Expensive project but finished product is outstanding IMONever ever ever give up hope. When you give up, that is when you accept defeat. They made 2499 of them so you don't need more than one.
I don't wear rose colored glasses but in my nearly 70 years, I have seen and been a part of miracles, not just random chances. I have found times
when I moved on with what I thought was the "best" decision, only to find the true answer further down the road.
I knew my hopes and dreams of a 4 speed 1978 Pontiac Grand Am were slim, but I've waited and looky looky, I ended up with a 1979 Hurst Olds,
and I always wanted to own a Hurst Olds in my lifetime. So my prayers were answered even better than I asked for and I didn't need to spend
nearly the amount the Grand Am would have cost me.
In no way will I criticise anyone for their decision. But I encourage others because I've had the blessings when others encouraged me.
And NO you cannot have my shifter from my H/O........but just remember, they DID find the HOPE Diamond. Your shifter is out there, and when
you find it......think of how blessed you are.
I know this doesn't have much to do with your search and helping you find it today, but today is today and tomorrow, you never know....
Very nice results. If you get a good one and convert it, I might take you up on helping you recoup some of your losses.
I have not heard this, what items are they going to run?I dont care for them but GbodyParts is repoping all of them including the shifters this year.
