That's purdy!!!!! What color ya gonna paint it? Corporate blue, black, traditional Burick red, or something else?

Purple with green heads and an orange intake!

Lol it'll be red. The block is a '72 which was originally red, the heads are from a '76 and were originally turquoise. I like both the red and turquoise but red seems more appropriate. I'm thinking about buying a T/A intake which would stay bare aluminum or just get clear coated to protect from corrosion. I'm not sure if the roller rockers will fit under the stock '76 valve covers but if they don't I'll have to try to find some cast aluminum ones which I think would look best in black.

I dropped off the keyway for the cam today so Bob was going to try and get the timing chain installed and the cam degreed today. I didn't get any pictures but the timing cover is put together and the oil pump is all set up sans oil filter housing. I ordered a new filter housing from TA and the roller rockers *should* be here by the end of the week.

Man it's not even my engine and I'm excited! Those pistons look sweet.

Also... if you are interested, DE-1653 Duplicolor engine enamel is what I used. It's the closest match imo to Buick red I could find, but not quite exact. Buick red was a bit more "dull".

That T/A intake looks really nice and will make your 350 super light.

Thanks man! The paint jobs on both of your engines look great. I don't think I'm gonna get too picky about the exact shade of red, it's gonna change anyways as soon as the engine gets hot and gets some grease and dirt on it. That Duplicolor red should be fine. That bolt kit looks awfully nice but it is a bit pricey (lol, as if that ship hasn't already sailed). Most of my fasteners are still in decent shape. The intake bolts are kinda ugly so I may replace those. I bought a set of ARP head bolts.

They are a little pricey but they make a light engine even lighter and there seems to be almost universal agreement that they are the best intake you can get for a SBB.
