was the quarter window delete covered up by a top of some sort?

Nope, just plain hard top. I assume they welded patchs on the window openings but it could have just been bondo for all I know. Didn't look at it close but wish I did. Also once found a G body with a red dome light lens like a ticket light.

One of the J pull junkyards i go to has a seperate gated area for whole operating cars for sale.

Going backwards this fall, from various yard searches.
This yard nothing new and have been there so I didn’t take many pics. Probably 25-30 g-bodies but picked over/sitting for 10-20 years or more, always find some smalls, including some NOS headliner clips in the box in what was a stick shift Cutlass:

Yard I used to frequent monthly at least now has gone to online inventory which is great, saves me a 30 minute drive there, but takes away the fun of discovery. Also the g-body intake has dramatically dropped this year, used to still get them in on a regular basis even through 2020. This year I believe they’ve had 5-6. This place turns things over, cars last 1-2 months before being crushed. 83’ Bonneville with a 305 and they had a Malibu coupe that was complete but apparently never entered the yard, either sold it complete(this yard often puts older interesting cars for sale, then in the yard if no buyers) or someone who works there got it:

The above yard put out a 85’ SS, friend of mine tipped me off. They got this car in March complete, I asked and one of the people who run the yard said he was keeping it. Fast forward to October and here it is, mostly stripped. Believe it was mostly done before being put out. Was rough but complete and could of been a driver or maybe project. Non AC, low option car, besides buckets/console pretty bare bones. 92AB5364-24C9-4259-8230-D39A1F1C6003.jpeg

September visited another yard that rarely gets anything new in, so these have been there 10-20 years, but always find more small items.

If you can’t tell I like yard hunting.

In late summer myself, Derrick and Joe explored southwest WI for a few yards. One had lots of old stuff but picked over somewhat and small. But still an adventure.

Had to walk through the gate and up a hill to find the few g-bodies this yard had

Traded some parts too:

Lol, those tailgater receiver hitch plat forms work great but i overloaded mine with the axle and bumper. Ended up bending my hitch mount.
That was a fun day. I think put on over 400 miles. Left at 6am and didnt get back till 8 at night
I'm starting to worry about myself. I'm almost having more fun hunting for the parts as i do building and driving my cars. It helps that i drive my cars while hunting.

also found this grand national later this summer. It had been t-boned. Motor, trans and interior were gone. I got most of the remainder.

Also found an aluminum radiator support sitting under a row of pine trees. Must have been there 20 years.

I tip my cap to you for driving them that far/for these kind of trips hauling parts. It makes me want to drive mine in this manner, but once you restore a wagon interior it makes you not want to use it like a wagon is intended for :D

I did use my LS for a few yard trips in the last couple years, jam packed the trunk a couple times.

I also like yard trips as much or more than car shows or even working on my own stuff, at times anyways. Something therapeutic about it.

Its the winter months and for most in this country, cant get to or for that matter, WANT to go to a salvage yard when the weather is so nasty
I must have a screw or two loose. As long as the weather in warmer than 20f, I'll go yarding. Even then, I've been out in colder weather. It's supposed to be 30f this Saturday. Guess where I'll be. Its perfect weather, no bees, no weeds to blind you from the finds, no mud or puddles to lay in while working. It's how i commune with nature.
It's also one of the few places that were open in Minnesota during the covid. So extra bonus to me. After a week of wearing a mask, it was one of the few places i could go and be left the F alone.
