Knock Sensor adapter

I was looking around and saw sites were selling a Gen4 to Gen3 know sensor adapter. I planed on tapping my block to accept the Gen3 sensors but was curious if anyone used these and how well they worked. One is made by Lingenfelter and the part is LS1-LS2 Knock Sensor Relocation Harnesses RX-LS1-KSRH.

Can't you just get some Gen 3 pig tails and splice them in?

I might have misread it but I thought it was to use Gen4 knock sensor with a Gen3 PCM.
