LCA bushing help

Anyone ever have problem installing new front lca bushings because they are too loose?
My issue is with the larger diameter bushing. It slides in place (fully seated) by hand with ease. Because of this, I used a chisel to dent the lip inward in several spots where the sleeves ride. I then pressed the new bushings in place. My question is, can the sleeves be welded to the control arms for good measure? Or should I not worry?

You can weld them - of course. But you should'nt have to.

You should investigate - wrong bushings or whooptified arms.

Welding would melt the rubber/poly liner. You did the right thing. They are usually so tight they need to be pressed in with a bench press or big "C" clamp. I agree with Nailhead- either wrong size or they were somehow hogged out. I think MOOG (?) has a chart with bushing sizes down to thousands of an inch.

I double checked the part numbers on the new bushings and measured. All was good there. The smaller diameter bushings were a tight fit and pressed in as expected. It was just the larger ones on both arms that were loose. I was thinking of removing the poly inserts, welding the sleeves to arms and reinstalling the polly. But like mentioned above, “I shouldn’t have to”.

I wouldn't think tack welds would be enough to melt the bushing.

They won't. I did this to my Camaro's UCA bushings years ago.

I had troubles with mine when I installed them as they were loose and pushed in easily. Ended up that there were different sizes for the front control arms.

Bushings are tight fit, not loose that would need to be spot welded so they don't rotate. AC Delco PN 14039483 for lower, 474786 for Uppers. The only item on the suspension that is not a tight fit is the upper control arm Ball Joint (Bolt On) ..

Thanks! I use a rag with my favorite cleaning soap (Ivory Liquid) stolen from the wife. I find taking out the wheel to be the easiest way to change plugs!
