Chevy, I assume? A big block will fit without removing the a/c box if stock valve covers are used.

Just for fun, here's a pic of my big block, although it's an Olds, and I have a non a/c heater box...

Mine is a summer driver so I did not see a need for the heater/ac box. A BBC will fit as stated with stock valve covers. I have seen guys notch the side of the box to fit tall valve covers. if you are good with fiberglass it will even look like the factory made it that way.
