So, I decided to buy a LM7 long block because I didn't trust the junkyard engine and I broke a couple extractors off in one of the heads and I figured why not. I had the trans rebuilt but the engine will go back (minus accessories) as a core.

Knuckle draggers can't even deliver a 400lb block of iron and aluminum without dropping it. This is incredible.

Anyway, this was delivered 30 min ago...

It is interesting to look at the crack - aluminum exceeded ultimate strength (ductile failure) with an impact!!! That is amazing! I couldn't do that with a 16lb sledge. I wonder what it sounded like when it hit the ground.

Vendor says they'll get a new one out to me eventually. They can take their time; I got yardwork to do.

I'd bet it got ran into with the back of a forklift or dropped off the back of a truck.

That's never fun news on your project!

That puppy did an endo off the dock or the forks. Bummer that the putz took a look around, said nothing and put it back on its pan. Gallons of diesel wasted in bringing it out to you.🤬
