Hi Jack, did you see Porshe is bringing back the 911 Carrera T in 2018? When they show up you should drive your Porshe to the dealer to check them out. The dealer will probably ask you to leave cause your Porshe will get more attention than the new Carrera...:)

Steve,
Many years back I was invited to drive a new Porsche at the local dealership. I guess they must get a list of (suckers) Porsche owners from the DMV and try to entice you to buy a new one. A little too rich for my blood.
The new body style is nice, but I prefer the old vintage cars. The new ones look like any other mass produced car on the road.

Maybe Porsche is trying to get the guys who liked the original Carrera T but they were too young and couldn't afford one but now have the money. I think all of these retro cars are going after that market.

The older vintage cars are bringing crazy money. I'm sure the newer cars are helping drive up the prices on the old ones. Some of the older 911's are worth almost as much as the new ones.

The older ones have the air cooled engine which can be rebuilt by their owners if they are capable. I heard the new water cooled engines are only good up to 100,000 miles and need to be sent back to Germany to have the engines rebuilt at a cost of $25,000 or if you want it rush add another $10,000

Yeah, they're all water cooled now. They're not as noisy as the aircooled cars. I'm an aircooled guy through and through.
