I was hoping to get some input on upgrading from the stock halogen lamps to getting some that are brighter. I have already considered the hid option, but I want to keep the stock look. Anyone else have any recommendations ?

I would go with LED. There are a lot of 4x6 LED lamps out there for a reasonable price. Only downside is the look. Some people don’t like the look of LED lights, as in the projector beam or individual diodes. There’s no question the illumination is superior.

Get the Hella replacement housings. i have them on my 81 malibu wagon. fit perfect ,look stock, and put out alot more light. make sure you get the upgraded harness too
Hella Vision Plus Conversion Headlights 003427291 = 6x7 size
Hella Vision Plus Headlamps 003177862 === 4x6 size

That is the best suggestion you are going to get, I have 4 Hella conversion lenses on my GP. I have HID but the bulbs that come with the conversion lenses will work perfectly for you. Make you sure add a relay for at least the high beams.

Somebody posted these on here and I saved them for a possible future purchase.

at the bottom of the ad on the link they have the Osram Sylvania name and logo but those headlights are not made by Sylvania. Sylvania make some nice LED lights for cars but they do not make any LED headlights. I will be getting some of the Sylvania 1157 LED but until a reputably company makes the headlights I'll stick with my HID

I used the ebay Autopal headlights and a relay harness. Really brightened up the road.

Same here. I’m happy with them.
