Lower trim on the 1981 cutlass fixed post

The 1981 cutlass came with two trim options one was wide and went bumper to bumper. The second trim option was front fender wheel well trim to quarter wheel well trim and was not very wide.This is the one I would like to know about did this trim come on any other cutlass G body. I have seen trim that looked like this on a 4 door cutlass. Does anyone know if this is one year only model trim or can I find it on a Regal or 4 door or other? Does any one have this trim on there car or have a picture of this trim. I have not seen this trim up close there are not that many 1981 cutlass with this trim left. Thanks. Bernhard

Bernhard, I believe my 81 has this trim. I'll check and get a pic later tonight. Are you looking to add this trim to your car or are you missing a piece?

I,m going to add it to my car. I like this trim pakage the best, I know in 87 they had a very thin rocker moulding but I like the 81 rocker trim the best. I know on the 4 dr cars they were held with screws from the bottom and they had one screw on each end of the trim that was on the face of the trim.What I like about these cars is that I can make my 86 look like a 81.I'm a big fan of the 81 trim, grills, int wood trim, sport stearing wheel, Factory alum rally wheels. My car is going to be 86 that looks like a 81 but has parts from 81- 88 cutlass. Trans from a 72 cutlass, engine from a 79 Delta 88 403, Dif from a 85 442, Int from a 87 and 88 cutlass with wood trim from the 81. I think my sig should be Mix and match cutlass.But the car will be 98% Olds. Thanks Black sheep. Bernhard

Thanks black sheep for the pic. That looks very close to the 87 trim. I have not seen 81 trim up close only in pics like the 1981 GM sales flyer.Do you no if that is the original trim? I thought it was wider than that. I just took a look at the sales brochure and the trim looks to be as wide as the rocker. There might be three trim options for 81.Thanks again. Bernhard

Does anyone have a 1981 2 dr G body cutlass with the trim like the factory sales flyer. I would post the pic from the flyer but I do not know how.

Heres what the wide moldings look like. Dont know if this is what your looking for. When I paint the car the holes will be filled in and the trim will contribute to my parts pile. I would be jealous to start with a no trim car personally.
