Pulled the tired 305 out of my 84 Monte Cralo SS and putting a 2006 truck 5.3 in along with the transmission. Got the Holley engine mounts and 302-2 Holley oil pan. I can get the mount bolt in on each side but the oil pan is barely hitting the front crossmember. Called Holley's tech service but no one has any idea on what the problem is. Any help is appreciated.

It looks like your mounts on the frame crossmember are too far forward. I believe they should be set back in other holes. The holley diagram should show the correct locations.

You could shim the frame mounts or engine pates as well. An 1/8 or 3/16" washer would do it. There is alot of info about these kits not having enough oil pan clearance - it's somewhat of a crap shoot imo.

I agree. The mounts are too far forward. Please read the the installation instructions. They are available on the holley site. Here are some pics of mine. I have an early frame and needed to drill some holes as stated in the directions.

The pictures I posted were my second attempt. The first attempt was using the second holes. I couldn't get the holley brakets on the engine to line up with the frame mounts. The engine was hitting the ac box. Right now I have 7/8 inch of space from the firewall to the back of the cylinder head. Centerline of the first hole in the frame to center line of the second hole is an inch and 3/8.

G-body frames & bodys have so many variables. I did my swap back in 02' making my mounts & notching & reboxing crossmember for f-body pan to fit .
I kinda have to say engine contacting ac box a little is about just right. I cracked & had to reseal the crack in case , as have many people I know of. I reused the same shorter driveshaft from my 1st gen engine in my location if that says anything.
Later swapped to fitting a vintage air system, really cleaned up the engine bay on pass rear side not having ac box hanging over.
