Quick question,

If I were to go with a LS1 dropout will the factory accessories and oil pan work ? It would be going in a 79 Monte, think I read the oil pan works but is tight to the frame. Are there any mounts that would make this better ?

I have not came across any information on the accessory drive working or not.

I'm not familiar with that pan working, but perhaps it does. Motor mounts are plentiful - google is your friend. ICT Billet, Dirt Dingo, AllStar Performance, etc......

Regarding the LS1, I have hard time considering one only because the truck engines are so plentiful with tons of parts, new and used, available. AFAIC, I'd go with any Gen 4 5.3, aluminum or steel block, before I'd drop the the big dollar on an LS1. An aluminum 5.3 with 899 or 243 heads and mild cam will outrun the LS1, but the factory truck intake is definitely uglier, but better flowing.

But, if you want to say you have an LS1 in there, then have at it.

I can get a good deal on a LS1 drop out but if the accessory drive and pan won’t work I could definitely get a 5.3 setup cheaper. I know the history on this LS1 that’s why it’s appealing.

I've been running LS1 Fbody Accessories since late 2010 with no issues. Need full setback mounts and a little cradle trimming to run the LS1 Fbody Oil Pan.

Cool. I was worried about how the alternator sits down under the power steering pump.

Mine are non-setback plates and the Alternator is close to the steering box.

I cut and boxed the crossmember to fit my f-body pan.
