Hello all. I have an 80 2 door Malibu that I owned about 5 years ago and was able to buy it back recently. I threw in a posi unit 9inch for the rear end. I have a 10k mile complete LSA outta a 14 CTS v for it along with a tr6060 outta a 12 Camaro ss. I have the correct clutch and flex plate for it. I plan on doing the t56 tailshaft conversion on the 6060 for correct position on the shifter and slip yoke shaft. I have stock manifolds for now but am open to suggestions. I'm just looking for people that have experience with the swaps. Any pointers. Motor mounts? I can get a trans xmemeber fabbed up. Just trying to go as cheap as possible and I do plan on doing truck accessories with AC. Also I am running the Holley terminator x for ECU.

Holley or Metaltek mounts work fine.

I recently installed an LSA T56 combo in my Malibu. I used Holley motor mounts, G Force x member and Hooker Blackheart 1 7/8” headers. Did not have to modify anything to fit the drivetrain and I just needed a hole in the floor for the shifter. Not cheap, but everything worked the way it’s supposed to.

Sweet!! That is what I like to hear!! How much easier was it having the front clip off? I was gonna drop it in with the front clip on unless it is that much easier??

Mine went on a bare frame, but I’ve done enough swaps to say it will be way way easier if the front clip is off. Forgot to mention, I used the Holley oil pan too.

Was the pan needed with them mounts? I was told I'd be good with the stock CTS v Pan?
Yes it was needed. The holly mounts set the engine low and there was no way the stock pan would have cleared the k member without modification. I figured the trade off in spending the extra $ using the holly mounts and pan, besides lower cg, was the hope that I wouldn’t have to modify the tunnel, which I didn’t.

Very jealous, that was my original plan but I chickened out and stuck with what I had
