I have the heater hoses from the z28 including the restrictor. I also plumbed in a vacuum controlled heater control valve that cuts off coolant flow to the heater core unless you have the head unit in a setting that calls for a hot core.

Hey baker7888, what are you using for power steering pump?
So i am in the accessory-homework phase right now. Was going to run z28 lt1 accessories but the people I have reached out to want a fortune. I read the bracket likes to break as well. So to answer your question I was going to run a z28 lt1 pump but i did keep my o.e. Pump and accessories (90 degree v6) and am debating making up some brackets.....

No restrictor or modified thermostat on mine

This is what i read about the restrictor : (taken from another forum)

"The flow restriction orifce is in the supply line to the heater core, so it isn't there to insure high flow to the heater core in the winter. Just the opposite. Since the heater does not have a shutoff valve and coolant flows to it all the time, the orifice it there to limit the flow to the heater, so the coolant doesn't bypass the engine"

My idea was to run the restrictor valve in the supply (supply TO core) line but will not be using a control valve or anything else. Just want to make it as simple as possible plumbing wise.

Since I'm using the f.i. and caprice accessory drive, i was able to use factory p/s and return hoses.
Check the tread that was listed earlier, i thick it was Jd1964 that used the gbody pump.

I understand you totally. It is important to allow the coolant to circulate through the heater hoses. The heater control valve I used is actually a bypass valve. When no heat is called for to the interior, the valve blocks flow to the heater core and opens a bypass loop to allow the coolant to continue its normal path through the engine components. It's not the cleanest looking setup but functional nonetheless. Not looking for a show car status under the hood obviously.

Awesome work, looks great. Are you going to go AC delete? Is changing in dash ductwork really nescessary?

I am actually going to run Ac this summer, my engine came with a aftermarket compressor mount. I just have removed it till I desire to install the ac back. The headers I bought are only ones I found that will work with the AC box
