Looking at ways to grow the site and audience. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to open the site up more for the racing community. I think that's mostly drag racing but I know there are also huge autocross groups as well. I'm thinking of stuff like...

  • reorganizing the forum or creating sections specifically for racing
  • visibility at tracks/meets/events etc.
  • ???
Discuss. Throw it all out there.

I wouldn't over think this too much, I think we have enough forums to cover the bases. I have found there hasn't been a vast interest in racing but it all spills over in the performance aspect. What surprises is how many people have never heard of GBODYFORUM. You might think about a decal that could be displayed on our cars, trailers, tow vehicles, golf cart or pit vehicle. I'd be happy to display it - I'm surprised how many people ask me about the Drag Racers insurance decal I have on mine. What I have been thinking about is a bunch of parts - pieces that I have, rather than throwing them away having a free section that someone might be able to use stuff. I know V-8 Buick has a (Pay It Forward) forum, just a thought. But the way I never heard about GBODYNATION.COM

I've been meaning to replace mine but I just keep forgetting.
That picture is old. It's actually basically black now, but it lasted at least 3 full years on an outdoor car.

Any business or in this case a site you are looking to grow is all about marketing. Stickers are good but how many people actually check out the site after asking about one? I don’t know. Everything is visual in our time and YouTube would be a great platform. Maybe do a g tv were you check out cars and comment on them put some good music and racing action in there then splatter the . Com all over and you may see some interest. Maybe even members can kick in at there local tracks and film some videos and send them in. Kids today are learning a lot about cars from watching videos online. My son is 12 and he can tell you about all these exotic cars like lambos and Mcclarens stuff I have no idea about and learns it all from YouTube. If you do it right lots of nice cars with high horsepower and track action and throw in some restoration how to’s you would have something.

Lots of G-bodies drag racing on YouTube. You may want to consult with some of the YouTube channel owners/cameramen about possibly advertising for the GBF in their video credits. JMalcolm2004 is one of my most watched channels on YouTube, and he does an outstanding job of gathering/editing footage and interviewing the drivers/builders occasionally.

Maybe slightly expand the “Racing/Track/Heavy Mods” section with Autocross, Drag Racing, Events. Other than that, I’d say let it take on a life of its own.

I'll just say this: another board I'm on has silly amount of subforuns.i don't even look at most of them because they're sooooo specific. My favorite part of GBF is the new post list. I can get a good sampling of what's going on without having to visit a bunch of subs.
