About 6 years ago I got out of the game after I wrecked "Malibu1" so I parted it out and sold "Malibu4". So July of last year my dad saw this '82 & I had to have it...i prefer '79s but this was too nice to pass up. So to piss my wife off  ...i bought it. My first v6 car.

'82 alldoor 229/th350c/2.41 with 54k on it

here is the pics when i first got it

Rather then post every single picture I have off every progress...i will initially list out what I have done & post pics of the highlights

In no particular order;
-removed all smog equipment
-custom midlength headers (damn near equal length)
-custom dual 2" mandrel-bent aluminized exhaust with merge X-pipe, now currently with the largest stock-style mufflers I can fit under the car
-modifed '80 229 air cleaner with dual snorkels (80 uses a taller filter)
-Summit roller-tipped 1.5 rockers (was worth 2 tenths!)
-clutch fan in place of the fixed fan (came off one of the past malibus)
-SpeedHut 6k tachometer
-70amp alternator
-Taylor wires
-rebuilt 200r4 with a shift kit,
-stock replacement Grand National torque converter (about 2100 stall)
-Lokar rod-type shift linkage (to run 4 in place of 3 on the column)
-AllStar trans cooler, with Summit -6 puck-lock lines & AN fittings
-Iceman chromoly crossmember
-rebuilt 7.5 rear with TrueTrac LSD, fresh Allstar 3.73 gears & poly bushings, TrickFlow cover, T-type Aluminum drums w/ all new rear brake hardware
-Autofab tubular rear control arms & custom welded in braces
-front F41 'jounce' bars
-fender to core braces
-F41 front sway bar w/ poly bushings & links (have rear...but been to lazy to paint & install)
-Sensatrack shocks
-AutoPal E-code headlights with Hella yellow high beam bulbs for the inners
-aluminum tag bucket

Whats not installed yet, but own...
-Crower cam 256/264 .411/.427" lift thats been WPC treated
-new Speed pro lifters with the bodies WPC treated
-Harland Sharp 1.5 aluminum rockers
-Holley 390 4bbl
-Edelbrock performer intake

Future plans...eventually I want to boost this motor, or get a 200 to build up for boost. Not necessary after big power, more to show off my fab skills & to have something different at the cruise in

Current dynograph ...the red is shorter due to 200r4 downshifting at any lower rpm. 108 is headers & duals, stock rear and trans, 111 is with no air cleaner. 116 is dual snorkel air cleaner, roller tip rockers & 200r4/3.73s

Best timeslip (#2). This is not a racecar, just a toy. When basically stock with just duals & flex fan it ran 17.3s

Nice car you got there very clean especially the engine bay. Also you have some fab skills there my friend. Them headers are somethingto be proud of.

That thing looks real nice, and those headers certainly are cool; they probably flow a lot better than my off-the-shelf Hedman's  That's one sweet 4-door

Thanks guys!

Nice ride. How did you get it to do a burnout? When mine was stock with 267 it wouldnt so i didnt think a v6 would lol

Its does burnouts with ease...even when box stock. Currently with the LSD and the brakes set a little tight...it struggles to get going but eventually winds up and then usually lays about 8-10 feet in 2nd gear  its a hoot to drive
