I was an adult back then ( age spoiler) and the Mustang GT style side stripes and Shelby top stripes say MISTAKE to me

Were they considered Shelby stripes when they were on ss Camaros and chevelles?

Definitely NOT like Chevy stripes. Look at any factory Chevy stripes then look at a Shelby. The closest GM stripes to the M80 was the 69 T/A

The side stripes remind me of Mustang and Fairlane GT cars from the '60's.
