Malibu trunk lock questions

I have a 79 Malibu no trunk lock have to use a screw drive to open it ,,I was told that its the same lock as door but has a long shaft that attaches to the lock to make it open . Does any one have any insight ? The junkyard has a Monte Carlo with one I'm gonna try to get the parts I need but will just buy a door lock with key if that' works .. Thanks

I got one from a 4 door 81 bu and a 80s cutlass gonna try one of those
