I'm in the process of Restomoding my Aerocoupe. It's a rusty ole turd and I am in the middle of replacing the floor in it. I have lots of ideas of how to update/modernize/mod the exterior and engine/trans, but when it comes to interior I have no idea where to start. I'd like to know from all you experts if there is any custom interior panels for G-bodies, or any interior parts out of other cars that drop in like other:

Seats
Dash
Gauge Cluster
Steering Column
Etc.

The one thing I really have a hard time with are the door panels. They have 80's written all over them, But I dont know where to begin on updating those. Any ideas and/or pics would be a great help.

You're in luck. Any GBody dash will interchange...take your pick. Same with seats and steering column and door panels and wheels.

Yeah I knew all G-body interior parts would be interchangable, but I was wondering if anything newer was interchangable. I just scrolled down and saw the S-10 dash, which doesnt look too bad.

Here's what I have put in for interior so far (I don't have a fancy camera but it's turning out very cool)

Fiberglass dash from Vibrant, it paints well and is very strong. It fits about 3" short on the passenger side, but it's nothing which can't be covered up with masonite and cloth or fiberglass.

Guages are your choice really, go with a mechanincal speedo and electric everything else when you buy them. The big companies offer more customer support in this area, like Autometer.

Try to find a stock steering column, there's really no difference in performance and the install would be more trouble than its worth. Spray paint and a new steering wheel will upgrade an original column if you can find one.

Front seats - I bought the cheapest functional buckets i could find, they're actually a nice fit once brackets are fabricated. I hate the all cloth look so i'm making some vinyl inserts for them.

Back seat (41" wide) - sits a little high after its bracketed in though. Stick with a stock rear seat unless you're crazy like me. It does open room up on each side of the seat for armrest/cupholders/speaker box/etc

I bought a plastic headliner which is very nice, didn't even need to upholster it, just paint.

Check out Auto lock or the Hoffman group for custom interior parts.

This is what you're looking for i think - rod doors .com
Keep the old panels or buy some used ones along with a custom set. This way you have professional trim for the edge of your new doors which you can create.

But really, use your imagination - i bought a honda accord center console pocket to mount the ugly old ac/heater unit in, after extending the vacuum, cable, and wires
