I finally read this from start to now and you've done an awesome job man! Cant wait to see what your doing with the interior and I agree on the alternator. Theres some parts you dont want to stick out because they look out of place but i think a nice semi gloss black paint job would give the alt a nice but subtle touch. JMO

Right on for that 83 you know ive been getting my wrench on whenever i get those free days here and there to do this stuff. I agree with you 100% on my alt a nice semi gloss is what it needs. i'll do the spray can thing but i may have a powder coating hookup so i'll find out if thats true or not sometime real soon. i have my fingers crossed because i want to PC all the sway bars and f41 suspension items if possible. For the interior i have a feeling your going to like it as long as your okay with my black and red theme. of course its not going to be stock nor wild. i think i found a good middle ground to with a custom touch to it. june 11th should be the day i shipping some interior items off if everything stays on track from now till then.
Nice, cant wait to see what you got planned. Im in the process of tearing apart my interior and been looking all over the place for ideas but it starts with the GP dash  Your Monte is coming along fast for how short the build is! Keep it up and good luck!

Cool cool i'll have to see how your interior works out as well. the GP dash are sick so the should be a good swap for you. i cant wait to get on that interior myself.

Im on the same page homie, huslte get us to build or gbodys....lol....i try to flip n e thing i can find on craigslist to make a buck here and there, then try to get a good price on parts for elko...

Like the headers they are $265.99 to shipping runs about $300.00......well I found Advance Auto Parts and got $50.00 off n e thing over $100.00 free shipping n e thing over $75.00 plus an additional 20% off....lmao, I paid $212.45 total....They are a distrubutor and they send the part directly from Flowtech factory....So i saved about $90.00, which i can use to redue my exhaust when the time come to install headers.,.

Do your thing boy!!!

Big Saint

Oh man you did your thing on that. For real now you have me 50/50 about doing the interior moves i had planned to make on friday. My interior deal is good through the end of the month but the extra saving for the headers expire on the 15th so i think i'll do that so i can cave $90 off those headers. its better to just buy them now and get it over with. Big time thanks for dropping that info.

Big shot out to my 80z crew for the feedback and everyone else for that matter you guys help me stay focused so i have something to show. The weather has been a let down for the most part this week. i been having the :wtf: face on cause its June in CALI so there shouldn't be any rain. Well this morning i was determined to get something done rain or shine but the rain won the battle once again so i had a outside shower this morning

other exhaust manifold is off and Big saint it wasn't a knuckle buster this time around

I need a ac comp and thats a buy for way down the line from now. in the mean time i took off the bracket for it, just tryin to get the bay clean as possible for the functioning parts that im using on my current setup now.

Right now the stage of the build goes up and down all the time. 1 moment it looks decent then next its ugly again.

When the SS can roll under its own power 1 of our first stops will be the car wash to pressure wash the bay. i know the best way to get it fully clean is to pull the engine....not going to happen now but its a must i guess.

That fever kicked in and i couldnt wait, this is just a mockup/test fit of the driver side header. it looks good and i cant wait to hear this exhaust setup soon. These headers arent ceramic coasted or anything so i plan to buy the 2" black exhaust wrap for them. Clearance wise im good not touching the frame or anything so thats a plus.

No you dont need to take the pulley off. i only did that because i dont have the ac compressor so i figured i would just take the bracket off. 1 less thing equals 1 better thing as far as the bay goes.

you know it man i'll try. after todays fedex drop off looks like i'll be out of new or fresh parts to install so its almost time to button all this stuff up. now the weather is just right but i dont have the free time i need to work on the project.....its always something. hopefully on saturday everything goes well so keep your fingers crossed for me. i would like to get more wrenching done soon.

im so glad my friend offered to buy the water neck i have on the intake. i knew i should had bought a 15* 1 but i grabbed the 90*. anyway i'll get a new one tomorrow before work and get the new upper rad hose going. Every little thing counts and it looks like a running motor although its not there yet.
